Where did you grow up? – I grew up in the northern tip of West Virginia about an hour north of Wheeling. Ohio and Pennsylvania were so close that it was like growing up in all three states.
Did you do any sports/activities growing up? – My parents were avid golfers and I played a lot as a kid, even played for the HS Golf Team. My real passion as a kid was swimming, I never wanted to come out of the pool.
Nickname? – My nickname is Rick and it is my preferred nickname for Richard. I’ve had others over the years but they luckily haven’t stuck. 😉
Favorite food? – I am not a picky eater so this is a tough one. Lately, a nice marinated flank steak cooked on a charcoal grill is about as good as it gets.
Favorite book? – I am a voracious reader. I usually have a book on tape for the car, a Kindle book at home and a backup paperback to read if my kindle is dead. My favorite books change all the time. A recent favorite was, “A Walk in the Woods” by Bill Bryson.

video production industry?
My favorite things about video production is getting to meet new people, getting to work in a variety of locations and keeping up with the constantly changing technology in our industry.
If you weren't working in video production, what would your job be?
I would probably work in a library or book store if I didn’t work in video. It would be great to be surrounded by books all the time.
What/where is your favorite place to visit/vacation?
I love to visit places that I haven’t already been, but my favorite vacation is Emerald Isle, NC. We rent a beach house there every three years with my extended family. None of us live very close together and it is a wonderful way to reconnect.
Where could people find you in your free time around Dayton?
We love to load up the bikes and ride on one of the awesome bike paths in the area. There are so many choices that we are still finding new places to ride.
If you could only watch 5 TV shows,
what would they be?
Football, Seinfeld, Survivor, MASH, and Big Brother.
When was the hardest you ever laughed?
My Dad’s jokes when I was little. They would take twenty minutes for him to tell, but they were always hilarious.
What is your favorite thing about
owning a business?
This has changed over time. Originally, I was very proud that we had created something that could support our family. Over time as the business has grown, I have expanded that view to include our work family here at DHP. I am constantly amazed at the level of talent and hard work they exhibit daily.
